Beautiful scenery unique demographics and great views are very common across all of New England. If you're looking to spend some time enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery or the beautiful coastal areas look no further than taking a trip to the beautiful state of Maine. Maine is truly "The way life should be". From its vast landscapes, stunning coastal beaches, mountain peaks and gourmet restaurants the pine tree state offers individuals a whole lot of activities to partake in and locations to visit. Today I’m going to introduce some of the best locations throughout the state of Maine. If you’re an individual who enjoys more urban areas than visiting Portland, ME is the perfect place to go. Portland offers all sorts of cool destinations and historical locations to visit. The “Old Port” in Portland is the place to visit if you’re planning on taking a vacation here. The many shops and restaurants around this area are a must see along with its phenomenal night life experience. This neighborhood is filled with a variety of pubs, breweries cocktail bars and younger people. The “Old Port” neighborhood is considered to be the center of Portland. This historical Neighborhood includes beautiful 19thcentury houses, museums as well as amazing cobblestone work throughout the city streets. The “Old Port” is also located along the wharf so if you want to be along the water and take a trip out to Peaks Island, Mackworth Island or Cushing Island there are ferries and cruises to accommodate your experience. Portland’s waterfront is truly a place everybody has to check out. One area that draws in many people is the “Eastern Promenade”. This 68-acre waterfront park offers amazing trails, beaches and a lot of open areas to kick back and relax. There is a 2-mile trail called the “Eastern Promenade Trail” which begins in the center of the “Old Port”. The nature and scenery that surrounds the Eastern Promenade Park is breathtaking. If you’re somebody who loves food or just loves checking out unique restaurants, then you have to go and visit DiMillo’s on the water floating restaurant. This five-star restaurant is located on a huge old car ferry offering customers a variety of seafood and amazing harbor views. This unique experience will not leave you disappointed.

“Acadia National Park “
Our next destination throughout the state of Maine is the famous “Acadia National Park”. About 160 miles from Portland this 47,000-acre park is located along the coast of Maine on Mount Desert Island. “Acadia National Park” offers some of the best scenery in the fall seasons and throughout winter. Booking a tour here is very much recommended as you will be amazed by its unique landscapes consisting of rocky beaches, big mountain peaks, forestry areas and the famous Cadillac Mountain. If you enjoy hiking whether that be in the summer or fall there are numerous amounts of trails to explore. In the winter you can still enjoy the outdoors by participating in activates such as cross-country skiing and snow shoeing. While you’re staying at Acadia National Park keep a look out for some of the stunning wildlife located in this area. From whales, moose, bears and birds this peaceful area will always seek to amaze visitors. Whenever you’re planning on visiting the beautiful Acadia National Park just know you will never be bored. With the many hiking trails, summits and landscapes this park offers visitors many physical activities to partake in and enjoy. If you just want to observe the wildlife and hike, fish, bike, ski, take a tour or just go camping nearby Acadia National Park is the place to be.

If you’re somebody who enjoys seafood, lobster, fishing, boating, beaches, Islands and stunning ocean views then “The coast of Maine” is the place for you to visit. The coast of Maine is very vast stretching approximately 3,478 miles. In fact, the coast of Maine is so big that there are many destinations to visit and explore. Here are some of the best recommended locations along the coast of Maine below:
Kittery, ME: If you’re somebody who loves to do some good shopping on your vacation while also enjoying the spectacular beaches and views then Kittery, ME is the place for you. Kittery includes a factory outlet shop which includes over 120 famous brands from different retailers. You will also find the well-known Kittery Trading Post. Here visitors can find amazing deals on items and receive huge discounts. Other than shopping areas Kittery, ME offers beautiful parks along the water and old historical Forts such as Fort McClary a former defensive fortification area from the United States Military and Fort Foster an old historical fort that was used from 1901-1946.
York, ME: York, ME founded in 1642 and one of Maines oldest towns is known for its heavily popular tourist attractions including amazing ocean views and some breathtaking mountain views. This highly popular summer tourist attraction offers 18 different golf clubs, Four beautiful sandy beaches and the famous Mount Agamenticus. On the mountain enjoy the many biking and hiking trails with stunning views at the peak of the mountain. When along the water make sure you go and check out the “Cape Nubble Lighthouse” built in 1879 this historical lighthouse was built and dedicated by the Lighthouse service it is still active and in use to this day. If you’re somebody who loves historical locations then you must go and check out the “Old York Gaol”. First established in 1720 it’s said to be one of the oldest prison buildings throughout the United States.
Ogunquit, ME: As we get farther up the coast Ogunquit, ME is one unique area to visit. This area is home to some of the best fishing and lobstering around. Filled with a variety of different shops, art galleries and restaurants Ogunquit, ME will never disappoint. Take a walk along the Marginal Walkway which is a stunning walkway along the ocean. While visiting the beautiful Ogunquit be sure to go check out the long beaches. If you’re somebody who is into theater and entertainment you can’t leave Ogunquit without visiting the wonderful and famous “Ogunquit Playhouse”. This small theater stands to be the last remaining summer stock theaters around. This theater in fact still attracts big star actresses to this day each year.
Wells, ME: Wells, ME the antique capital founded in 1643 actually became the third official established town in the state of Maine. This prime vacation spot is the place to be it still holds the famous slogan “Friendliest Town in Maine”. From the many beaches, shops, nature trails, and gourmet restaurants Wells, ME is the ultimate tourist attraction. If you’re looking to spend most of your time here along the water, then head down to Wells Harbor. This area includes many different fisherman, lobster boats, yachts and fishing charters. Individuals can participate in activities such as kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding on the Webhannet River. Wells Harbor also holds concerts along the Wells Harbor Park in the Gazebo you can view free concerts throughout the summer seasons and check out special events like the Harborfest which goes on each year. Or maybe you just want to spend time at Wells beautiful beaches. Look no further then checking out Moody Beach, Crescent Beach, Wells Beach and Drakes Island Beach. Here at all of these locations the sand is known to be very soft and the saltwater is sought to be very refreshing a must see visit on your next vacation.
Kennebunkport, ME: The last location on the list is the famous Kennebunkport, ME. This well-known summer tourist attraction offers a lot of history art galleries and five very beautiful beaches. From the stunning hotels along the seas to the top-quality restaurants this area never disappoints. When you’re staying in Kennebunkport, ME you absolutely must check out the Brick Store Museum, White Columns, Vinegar Hill theater and the parson’s way walking path. Although Kennebunkport is a much pricier place to travel it still offers affordable areas to stay. Other than its amazing summertime presence Kennebunkport offers individuals good lodging and dining throughout your entire stay here.
